*warm up*warm up*crack fingers*
before i start..
i wana warn you that its gona be a long read
and if you feel bored you can leave
i won't bite or chew or hunt you down
=p
ok lets start..
22/05/2011 (Sunday)
Have you ever wondered when we are new to a certain place,
we feel lost and nervous and curious, scared?
well it happened to all of us and on this day.
I've taken up the challenge to go to seremban
where my friend and brother in Christ stays.
his name is Jo. We traveled last night from my place
and i really thank God for his family
to come all the way from seremban
to pick me up knowing that both of us
will have to go to Singapore. Having the same feeling,
I hesitated to go to Singapore but with encouragement
from Jo and he bring me to church this morning.
I felt that, no I was reminded that the Lord is with me
here, there and everywhere that we traveled.
I no longer feel the insecurity. Praise the Lord!!
After service, we tried ice-cream, its... its..
Fantastic!! really really not bad! we bought siew pau
(of course Seremban is famous for that)
and we head back. Jo's mom prepare us lunch and..
did i mention that she is super nice?
well she is!! not only that.. She is sporting also!!
Awesome!! I had my afternoon nap and when you are sleeping,
time flies..
i wake up and it is 6 pm already. Had dinner.
I duno what it is called so I'm gona simply say it here
it is called "pacang"
it is certainly different from my grandmother's cooking
and its super nice too!!
I now learn something new too. I've learn to eat watermellon
with buah asam, chinese "limau ais" is different from the mamak 1
(thanks to Jo's mom!)
bread with ham + cheese is a thumb up snack,
people do change and to end the day.
we watched Pirate's of the Carribean : Strangers tide
its fun!! love it.
23/05/2011 (Monday)
Waking up early is just not me. I'm so reluctant to wake up
but i still force myself to. 7am Jo wake me up
and the activity for this morning is hiking..
yess hiking! we hike up a hill and at 1st..
it is tiring but when we reach the top. it is worth it
cause we can see the whole of seremban there.
the best part, we can camp there and at night..
when the sky is clear we can see stars.
OK back to reality, we went back,
on the way down it started raining.
we were soak but we continue on.
Breakfast was beef noodles Awesome!!
its definitely different from the one I ate in KL
After that is Melaka.
We went down to Melaka to try cendol!!
well we went at 1130 reach at 1215
and back at 1745.
hahahahaha...
we even try the menara taming sari
where you can almost see the whole of Melaka
another awesome place to visit next time.
One day is not enough..
As we head back we fetch Add
from the train station.
hahahaha..
he were complaining it was hot along the way.
had a home cook food dinner,
catching up session and supper!!
God's creation is wonderful..
24/05/2011 (Tuesday)
i sleep well last night and i wake up early!!
well.. not that early but earlier than Add!!
hahahaha...
we had breakfast and i broke my spree
of "not going to facebook when i leave my house".
i went to facebook last night.
anyway before leaving the house for breakfast.
we had a light breakfast at Jo's house
then a heavy one outside.
we had... wait, its supposed to be
I had mee with mushroom and chicken feet.
Its definitely nice!! although its a bit slow
eating the chicken feet. then we photostat
our document because the host needed
for record. in case anything went wrong.
then we went back to Jo's house and have a
rest, check up and lastly our lunch
before we head out to singapore.
although we arrived late at the bus station,
but we were in time because
the bus waited for us.
Thank you Lord!! and so our journey
to Singapore began. Upon arrival,
at the immigration centre, I am a newbie.
yes i am one! Being so new..
I did the one mistake that i shouldn't do..
which is..
holding my pasport with my mouth.
well.. i still manage to go through..
hahahaha..
the next one is when they scan bags.
you know I'm supposed to put
my phone and my wallet into the tray
and let it scan.. well.. I put it into the tray..
and let it pass on top of the scanner.
I didn't realize until I saw the other side
that the people did that. I still manage to pass
hahahaha...
Add call his uncle and his uncle suggested that
we take a taxi to his place at Tampines.
His uncle is so welcoming, friendly and good!
you know the best thing about people
that we call family or friends is that
they will do the best they could to
provide you a better hospitality.
take for example, Add's uncle
his house is small, just enough for his family,
but he try his best to provide small mattress
for us not only that we get an air conditioning
room and we get to watch movies until
late night. same goes for Jo and his family.
God bless them. that evening we had curry chickem
and we went walking looking for Tampines mall.
at 1st we got lost but thanks to a kind lady
we were able to find our way
explore new places and such meeting new ppl
that night we 3 talk, talk about our past
Oh we also had supper...
25/05/2011 (Wednesday)
Wake up late!! well.. earlier than Jo and Add
hahahahaha... =p
then we start to depart our journey to NUS
before that we had brunch (breakfast+lunch)
as we continue our journey,
it started to raining and awhile after.. it stopped!
God is good!! we took the bus to Tampines station
then we met Add's uncle on the way!!
how cool is that? LOL..
it's because when we wake up, the house is empty
only 3 of us.. so on the way we met with Add's uncle
and he thought us how to get on the MRT
well.. we know how but the ticketing system
is different from the one in Malaysia!!
this one provides a card and
after we used it we can refund the card!!
hahahaha...
it's my 1st time in Singapore..
during the ride, we encounter a few events
like putting our bags in the middle of the walkway
like nobody business and telling the difference
between central city and housing station
pack and not so pack..
giving the elderly a place to sit
and
asking the information counter about
which bus is going to NUS
we stop at Clementin (i hope i spell correctly)
took a bus to NUS
half-way through we ask ourselves,
did we take the right bus?
panic we became
Jo being brave enough ask the driver
whereas a beautiful lady
who is also going to NUS actually help us
Praise the Lord!! upon arrival
we met Kim Cheng a staff worker
from Malaysia and instantly
she recognize all 3 of us
saying our names in order!!
and we met with familiar names
we register and sadly we stayed in different blocks
then we decided to walk around again
but this time we are not lost!!
Lol..
dinner time is late but dinner is still dinner
and
we were supposed to eat in a group
Oh i'm group 5 btw
so we went group hunting and found mine
although it is 5 of us but
i'm sure there will be more
during the opening ceremony..
the bus is big!! the room is big,
lecture theatre is big, toilet also big
even the door is big...
during the opening ceremony,
there is this doctor
that give a testimony
and what caught my attention
is that in the Bible there are
3 types of people that God speaks in dreams
the 1st is the imperfect,
the 2nd is the non-charismatic leader
and the 3rd is the ordinary people
people like you and me
then we were split into our groups
for an ice breaking session
and we went back to our hostel
for more ice breaking session
with snacks and back to our rooms
to have a goodnight sleep for tomorrow
26/05/2011 (Thursday)
Today is a bit tired after i wake up
is it because i didn't sleep well last night?
or maybe i'm too excited or nervous?
but i know for sure that i won't
be able to concentrate today's talk
it must be hard being a foreigner
because being one means that
being an outcast
one have to slowly talk or
even understand one's question
i feel that we should be patient
in talking to them and do try to not
left them out
it's great worshiping the Lord
in a lecture theatre
and it's the best feeling that i had
singing with everyone focusing on God alone
i'm not ashame to do things differently
i think i'm getting fat on the stomach!!
oh noooo..
needed to be fit again..
i ate a lot this time..
but it is worth it
because we eat in groups
fellowship with one another
while eating can really bond us together
a joyful and thankful moment
that we enjoy with each other presence.
tomorrow is another day and God is with us.
27/05/2011 (Friday)
i find it fascinating hearing other nation pray
praying in their own language
why?
its because i feel that no matter
where you go or we go
when there is a church
there are people
glorifying God
in their way/culture/language
worshiping, praying and seeking
the same God as i worshiped
in this conference
EARC (East Asia Regional Conference)
there are so many things
that are exposed like..
the way of the world
christians and people
there are more, much more
when we step into the working world
naturally, the question came in..
will you glorify the Lord?
a question that only can be answered
once we step in
what can we be or do
that are pleasing before the Lord?
sometimes "stuff" happens and
looking back to what i wrote in here
make me feel that i think..
i've done something only God knows how
and who is right to read
so i'll pray, pray for you
pray that this can somehow impact you
28/05/2011 (Saturday)
i pray for strength to go on today
and..
my prayer is answered!!
amazing that i think
i will not go on today
but..
i did!!
Praise the Lord!!
somehow i wanted this day to last
because i feel that
no..
we feel that we are having
lots of lots of... fun!!
as soon as the urban hunt began
we laugh, think, tease, sing
and...
lame jokes!!
hahaha...
yess i introduce my small groups
lame jokes..
aside from that, we sing
not in english but in
japanese, thai, indonesia, tamil and mandarin!!
it's like a culture language song
the best part..
everyone take part in it
another best part..
we sang in public
and..
i think a few passerby were staring at us
going green is not easy
especially for shopping complex
and offices
but i'm amaze that japan mange
to do something like that
and now singapore
is trying to achieve the same thing
got to admit that today
is a bonding time with the group
somehow..
God is with us all the time
God bless!!
29/05/2011 (Sunday)
when it is too late..
learn from the mistake
and move on..
i wonder sometimes when we thought
that we made it the best
that we could and after a few minutes
we realize that we can do better
or we should do like this
and so on..
it's still not too late to think about it
and work it out for the next similar event
or even i don't know..
do a different thing maybe?
another thing that i'm worried about is..
the future..
NOT the future for me..
but for us..
the participants of EARC..
will there be more??
will the teaching last us till we are old??
will we lose our faith??
and more..
so many things to think about
and yet..
we tend to forget about it
or even close one eye..
i like to quot someone
he said..
"everyone is imperfect,
so don't strive to be perfect
but strive to be beautiful
yes it may not be perfect
but it is beautiful."
and beautiful you are..
